ICE Real Time Strategy

Project Description

ICE is the sixth game I worked on at The Game Assembly, the second while working with the same group, Distortion Games. We made it using our own Engine based on DirectX, with Wwise for audio.

My Contributions

  • Threaded loading of Models, Animations and Sprites
  • Support for animated models
  • Created custom fileformat for models and animations to reduce loadtimes
  • Adding support for Luascripts to the engine
  • Highlevel AI
    • Fuzzy logic to make decisions (what resource to gather, where to attack, which units to build etc)
    • Influence maps
    • Exposing variables that Level Designers used to tweak AI behaviour
